Meet Bear and Benji, two wonderful rabbit patients of ours. They were our first patients for our Rabbit Vaccination Days which we held on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 of March.
It was a success with around 20 rabbits coming in to get up to date with their vaccinations. Due to the recent release of the new myxomatosis virus which has been released throughout Victoria we had a lot of enquiries about rabbit vaccinations, so we decided to have two days dedicated to our wonderful lapine patients (new and old).
Bear and Benji had an exciting start to their veterinary career themselves, Bear was initially very sick with Floppy Bunny Syndrome and it was touch and go for a while for him. Bear clearly decided he was a fighter and bounced back with gusto. He does need weekly penicillin injections to help keep him feeling well and happy, but as you can see in his picture, he is enjoying life with the company of his brother.
Don't worry if you missed out on the Rabbit Vaccination Day – we will be hosting more in the future, so please stay tuned. For more information on Rabbit Care at home; http://essendonvet.com.au/pet-library/rabbit-care
