Nurse Sarah's trip to South Africa
If you visited the clinic during November or December, you may have noticed a friendly face missing. Sarah, one of our amazing nurses has just returned from her second trip volunteering in South Africa!
She had a wonderful time with her partner getting involved in some conservation and community work at the Shamwari Conservation Experience on the Eastern Cape. Daily activities included removal of alien plant life, fixing roads, planting trees, game monitoring, game parasite control and visits to the wildlife rehabilitation centre. It is here that Sarah had the incredible experience of meeting three juvenile, orphaned rhinoceros’ whose mother’s had been poached.
The experience was certainly one to remember and Sarah has returned to the clinic with a lot of knowledge and plenty of stories to share.
Feel free to ask her about it the next time you pop in to the Essendon Vet Clinic!
